Volunteer with Us
We are delighted that you are considering joining our small team and increasing the impact of Urram throughout Acharacle, Ardgour, Morvern, Sunart and West Ardnamurchan.
Volunteers Wanted
Help with our Helping Hands Befriending Service
As a volunteer befriender you would offer supportive, reliable relationships to people affected by social/rural isolation or advancing illness, helping them to cope and improving their well-being. You might meet your befriendee for coffee and a chat, or take them to a social group or the shop. The service is very much designed around the needs of the individual and becoming a volunteer is a great way to help someone in a slightly more formal way in your community. If you are available for 1-2 hours every week or fortnight and you want to find out more about being involved, then please get in touch.
Help with Hospital Transport Service
All we ask for is an enjoyment of driving and spending time in someone else’s company ( and a valid driving licence! ). The service takes individuals to medical appointments and is an essential service for many in our communities. Hospital transport volunteers need to be 25+ for insurance purposes. If you would like to get involved, then please do get in touch.
Become a Board Member
Urram are looking for new Board members to represent the five local Community Council areas. If you have skills or experience in health and social care, community development or fundraising and you would like to help Urram with its Dail Mhor redevelopment plans, please get in touch.
Current Vacancies
Community Play Practitioner
** This post is now filled, but if you would like to join our team of Community Play Practitioners following the trial then please do get in touch.
Would you relish the opportunity to support families and young children in the Acharacle, Ardgour, Morvern, Sunart and West Ardnamurchan community council areas, and test a new and innovative way of providing much needed childcare and Early Years support across the area, but with a particular focus initially on Acharacle and Sunart. Urram and the Ardnamurchan Childcare Action Group have been working with Care and Learning Alliance, The Highland Council and Highlands and Islands Enterprise to research and consider childcare possibilities.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic practitioner, who is passionate about the importance of play for young children and families, to test the Work Club concept. You will be able to work flexibly, using your own initiative in planning and delivering the work.
