Car Club
Urram is delighted to offer a Car Club to local residents!
You can book one of our electric vehicles: the Skoda Enyaq (located at Oakwoods in Strontian) or the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (based at the Old Post Office in Acharacle).
These cars are also used to provide our popular transport service for medical appointments, and we want to make them available for wider local use to maximise their impact.
We hope the Car Club will bring a range of benefits to the local community—improving connectivity, reducing our carbon footprint, and above all, saving you money. Perhaps you could reduce the number of cars in your household—or if you only ever need a car occasionally, this could be the ideal solution.

Once you're a member of the Car Club, booking a car is easy. You can check availability and book either car online using a weblink. This means you can book many months in advance or at the last minute—and you won’t need to wait for approval.

The car club provides a convenient affordable alternative to car ownership and will encourage less carbon intensive forms of transport. Running and owning a car is not cheap when you factor in insurance, tax, depreciation, repairs , MOT, servicing and breakdown service costs. Using the Car Club gives you the use of a car without the need to own one.
Becoming a car club member not only gives you access to our fantastic community electric car but also makes the scheme a more viable community asset, making an affordable driving option available to more people within our community.
The Skoda car is parked at the Oakwood building in Strontian and there is a charging unit on site.
The Hyundai car is parked at the Old Post Office building in Acharacle and there is a charging unit on site.

If you charge off site you will be responsible for the cost of the charge.
You will be responsible for the insurance excess currently £250.
To join the car club you must be a resident aged 25 or over in the community council areas of Acharacle, Ardgour, Morvern, Sunart and West Ardnamurchan. You must also have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 2 years and have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence. Full terms and conditions can be found here.

It’s easy to become a car club member, just complete the online form below. Urram will then complete a licence and address check, issue you with your membership invoice and on receipt of payment you will receive your membership number and access to our online booking system.
