Car Club - Terms and Conditions
- Only members of Urram Car Club permitted to drive any of Urram’s cars.
- All Drivers must be over 25 and hold a full UK driving licence. They must have at least two years driving experience and have no more than 6 penalty points on their licence.
- All Members must be resident in the community council areas of Acharacle, Ardgour, Morvern, Sunart and West Ardnamurchan.
- All memberships require an annual driving licence check to be completed.
- After your membership is approved you will be issued with a membership number and details on how to collect the keys. This information is for your personal use only and may not be passed on to any third party. You are obliged to inform Urram by email of the revocation of your driving licence, any new endorsements, or restrictions. In the case of the revocation or new endorsements prohibit you from driving an Urram vehicle your membership and access to the online booking system will be revoked.
- The cars are only to be driven in the UK
- Break down cover is included and details on how to access assistance can be found in all cars.
- Drivers are responsible for checking vehicles for any damage before use. If any damage is found, then this should be reported to the transport coordinator If the driver damages car while on hire, this should be reported to the transport coordinator and the damage procedure followed.
- The driver is responsible for all the excess costs incurred due to damage or accidents that happen during their hire period.
- The driver agrees to pay all fees detailed on the booking site. Drivers will be liable for any administration’s fees, theft and damage caused, toll parking and traffic fees, and all other fines or charges incurred while the car is hired to them. Any charges incurred will be invoiced and due within14 days. If any late fees are incurred due to fines not being paid these will be invoiced and additional administrations fees may be added.
- Telemetric data. All vehicles are fitted with telemetric technology. Data provided to us through this technology will enable us to see your use of the vehicle including but not limited to speed and location.
- If for any reason the vehicle is not available on day of booking, you will be refunded your booking fee only.
- Any booking can be changed up to 48 hours before booking, this will need to be done by emailing or phoning the transport coordinator.
- Bookings must be paid for before the car is picked up, any additional costs will be invoiced after the car is returned with payment due in 14 days.
- Drivers are responsible for completing the mileage sheets kept in the car, this will support the billing system. Accurate recording is essential in ensuring that all bills are accurate. If the mileage sheet is not completed, Urram will make their best estimate of mileage used and the driver will be charged accordingly.
- If you need to extend a hire, please do so as soon as possible. If this cannot be done on the booking system, then contact the transport coordinator by phone or email. If the car is not available, you must return the vehicle at the initial agreed time.
- The vehicle should be returned in a similar condition of cleanliness to which it was received. Where additional time is required for cleaning the vehicle due to strong odours, sand, body fluid dirt or stubborn stains an additional £30 will be charged. If you arrive to take the vehicle and it is not clean, please report before you use to ensure you are incorrectly charged.
- During the rental period Urram are not responsible for any property held in the vehicle. This is kept at your own risk.
- If you have an accident in the vehicle, please follow the guidelines kept in the car handbook.
- While you are responsible for the vehicle, you are responsible for ensuring the safe management of the keys and charge cards. If you misplace either you need to report to the transport coordinator. Any replacement fees incurred, you will be invoiced for.
- All personal data that Urram hold on you is in accordance with our privacy policy. This policy is available on request.
During the hired
- You must use the vehicle according to the road traffic laws applicable to the area you are driving in.
- Use the correct charging points.
- Lock the vehicle when you are not using it, or when you are charging it.
- Drive the vehicle with due car and attention.
- Contact Urram as soon as you become aware of a fault in the vehicle, or if you believe the fault means the vehicle is no longer road worthy.
- Contact Urram immediately when any warning light is displayed on the vehicle, when the service reminder message is
- If you carry animals in the vehicle, please ensure they are carried in a crate and the vehicle is handed back in the same condition of cleanliness as when you collected it. Failure to do so will result in additional charges.
- You must not
- drive without due care and attention
- at excessive speed,
- use a mobile communication device that may distract you from driving including driving while texting, emailing using a mobile phone without a hands free device or other wise engage in similar activities.
- You must not overload the vehicle.
- You must not sell, rent remove or dispose of the vehicle and /or any optional extras or, allow anyone else to do so.
- You must not push or tow any trailer or any other vehicle.
- You must not give anyone else the right to drive the vehicle.
- You must not work on the vehicle or let anyone else work on the vehicle without Urram’s prior written agreement.
- You must not carry or transport any hazardous, toxic, flammable, corrosive, radioactive, harmful, dangerous, strong smelling, or illegal materials.
- You must not use the vehicle for any crime or other illegal activity or purpose.
- You must not use the vehicle for hire or reward.
- You must not use the vehicle for any purpose that requires an operator’s licence.
- You must not use the vehicle off road, on a racetrack, for racing, pace making testing for reliability or speed, or in connection with any motor rallies.
- You must not put anything on the roof.
- You must not damage the vehicle by transporting unsecure loads or hitting high level objects.
- You must not drive the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs or other narcotics substance, or medication under the effects of which the operator of the vehicle is prohibited or not recommended.
- You must not smoke or allow anyone in the vehicle to smoke.
